SUMMARY:May 29\, 2026 Small Manufacturers Council: Training Costs & ETIP
DESCRIPTION:A voice for Small Manufacturers\, the newly launched Small Manufacturers' Council is delivering real value for IMA members! Designed exclusively for manufacturers with 150 employees or fewer\, this monthly forum brings IMA members together to connect\, collaborate\, and tackle the unique challenges facing smaller operations. This month\, we're taking a focused look at how manufacturers can significantly reduce training expenses through the Employee Investment Training Program a state grant that can reimburse up to 50 percent of eligible training costs. Last year alone\, more than 130 Illinois manufacturers received reimbursement\, and in FY2027 the IMA has been tentatively included in the State budget at $1.4 million to support this effort. For our next meeting\, SMC Chair Nirel Inman\, President of Chicago Glue & Machine\, will lead a conversation with the IMA staff who manage the grant process. Together\, they will share practical Tips & Strategies for securing reimbursement\, including how to prepare a strong application and what support is available to maximize your likelihood of approval. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the resources offered before submission\, common pitfalls to avoid\, and how to position their company for successful job‑training reimbursement.
